WHY RE-ELECT “TAB” TABERNIK?

STEADFAST LEADERSHIP

County leadership must be community focused, accessible and transparent.  As the current Vice Chair of Council, I have already exhibited my commitment to and will continue to stress the need to….

(1) Maintain high ethical standards;

(2) Conduct council meetings open to the public;

(3) Conduct  workshops to study issues, listen to public comments, and delve deeply into the budget;

(4) Provide adequate time for public comment at meetings;

(5) Hold monthly “chat with council” sessions to interact with residents;

(6) Hold council meetings in different areas of the county;

(7) Listen to residents on issues of concern to them;

(8) Hold community meetings to provide information and receive feedback, and

(9) Respond to phone calls and emails from constituents in a timely and professional manner.

ACCOUNTABLE GOVERNANCE

County government should set an example of how an efficient and effective government should serve its residents.  As the current Vice Chair of Council, I have already exhibited my commitment to and will continue to stress the need to….

(1) Perform my fiduciary responsibility to always act in the best interest of the county as a whole, not in service to any special interest groups;

2) Promote fiscal transparency so that residents can know and understand how their money is being spent;

(3) Practice fiscal accountability through oversight of administrative spending and departmental budgets;

(4) Work closely with administration to provide residents with the services they need;

(5) Work with leaders in our municipalities and Jasper County to address issues we have in common, and

(6) Be accountable to act as a good steward of your tax funds.

I encourage all residents to hold me and all of my fellow council members accountable for our service on County Council. I am proud to serve the county and my district.
